Quiniela Oscarina 2012

Todos los años surge el mismo tema: que XYZ no merecía ganar el premio, y que se lo robó a PQR. Es un ya un ritual.

Y así será siempre, primero, porque [quien suscribe incluido] nunca aprenderemos, y segundo, porque el Oscar es, reiteramos, un premio de la industria, un premio del momento, del tema de conversación, de lo popular, no de la verdadera excelencia.

El Oscar, como todo en Hollywood, no funciona como una meritocracia, aunque ambos crean y quieran hacer creer que sí. El que gana generalmente no es el mejor, ni el que los votantes creen quedará como el merecedor para la posteridad, sino el que por un instante ínfimo, a veces de días, logra capturar la intención de voto de más de 5,000 personas que votan como ganado en consenso. La AMPAS es un organización monolítica que, como se ha destapado en días recientes, es poco representativa y envejecida, lo que resulta en que lo políticamente correcto, lo gastado y probado, lo mismo de lo mismo, gane cada año.
